Discussions also focused on the activities of 2025, which was a year of impact. The Foundation expanded its support to five board-approved projects, reaching over 13,800 volleyball players across five countries, engaging 444 volunteers and total grants for the year amounting to over CHF 220,000. Systems for measuring impact were put in place and a roadmap for fundraising readiness was developed.
The meeting also explored how Foundation-supported projects have delivered strong results in their communities. The Githurai Kimbo Volleyball Academy in Kenya provided children with education, coaching and mentorship, while the Brahmaputra Volleyball League in India engaged more than 5,000 children, becoming one of the world’s largest grassroots volleyball programmes.
The Board also discussed plans to strengthen and expand existing projects in 2026. Beyond the Net in Ethiopia is set to reach more than 3,000 children, integrating volleyball into schools and empowering local communities. In Jordan, the Generations for Peace Volleyball Programme will support 100 displaced youth through sport and psychosocial support. Volley4Change in Vanuatu will promote inclusion and gender equality while engaging families in urban and remote areas.
Further, in 2026, the Foundation’s presence online is set to grow further and there will be an enhanced focus on the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation systems. With this growth, the FIVB Volleyball Foundation is well positioned to continue using the global reach and power of volleyball to uplift communities worldwide.
