The Foundation aims to connect, serve and inspire global communities through volleyball to improve societies
Today, on Olympic Day, the FIVB Volleyball Foundation joins the Global Volleyball Movement and millions around the world in celebrating sport and everything the Olympic spirit represents.
The theme for Olympic Day this year is “Let’s Move?” – a simple call to action: get active, bring someone with you and make movement part of your day. Whether it’s on a court, on the sand or in the park, movement is what connects us – and few sports capture that better than volleyball.

At the Olympic Games Paris 2024, volleyball and beach volleyball were right at the heart of the action. Beach volleyball delivered unforgettable moments at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, while volleyball lit up the South Paris Arena 1. But it wasn’t just about the matches. Over 300,000 fans took part in the Volleyball Experiences, hosted by the Volleyball Foundation at both venues. These activations gave fans another way to connect with the sport, from fun challenges to meet-and-greets with international stars.

Volleyball is about connection, collaboration – anywhere, anytime, with anyone. And everyone who takes part becomes part of something bigger: the Global Volleyball Movement.
With over 800 million people already engaged, and a clear goal to reach 1.6 billion in the next Olympic cycle, volleyball is growing fast. That growth is supported by the FIVB’s Strategic Vision 2032, and the FIVB Volleyball Foundation plays a key role in helping deliver on that vision. The Foundation uses the global reach and power of volleyball to support community projects worldwide that have a positive impact. Its mission is clear; to connect, serve and inspire global communities through volleyball to improve societies.

Over the past year, the Foundation has worked closely with stakeholders across the Global Volleyball Movement to support impactful initiatives focused on youth development, inclusion, education and gender equity.
