Generation For Peace Volleyball Programme

Location

Jordan

Start Date

May 2025

The Sport for Protection Volleyball Programme uses volleyball to build peace, resilience and social inclusion among vulnerable and displaced youth in Jordan. Working with 100 young people aged 10 to 24 in communities shaped by conflict and displacement, it creates safe spaces where they can come together, build trust and develop the skills to overcome adversity. By pairing volleyball with psychosocial support and leadership development, the programme equips participants with tools for conflict resolution, emotional resilience and community engagement.

To date, the programme has delivered over 1,000 structured volleyball sessions, and 97% of participants report improved psychosocial wellbeing. Trained youth leaders drive delivery, ensuring the impact lasts long after activities end. Here, the sport is a means to resilience, community and a sense of normal life – showing how volleyball can bridge divides and help young people build confidence, deepen community ties and shape a more peaceful future.
